Việt Nam win golds in Singapore fencing champs

Viet Nam News HÀ N?I — Vi?t Nam won two gold medals at the ongoing Singapore Senior Fencing Championships on Saturday, April 29 .

Nguy?n Ti?n Nh?t triumphed in the men’s epee individual event, after defeating his fellow countryman Nguy?n Phu?c Ð?n in the final match at the OCBC Arena, Fencing National Training Centre.

Lee Mun Hou Samson was awarded a bronze medal after defeating Loh Wei Jie Oscar in an all-Singapore third-place play-off.

The second gold medal won by Vi?t Nam went to Nguy?n Xuân L?i, who beat his Vietnamese teammate Nguy?n Van Quy?t in the men’s sabre individual event final.

Malaysian Emir Putra Syed Adam came in third place, winning over See Zhuo Rui Jorelle of the hosts in the bronze-medal match.

Vi?t Nam also took part in the women’s foil individual category, but failed to place in the top three.

Athletes will continue competing in different events on Sunday, April 30, the final day.

Nguy?n Th? Luy?n will be the Vietnamese representative in the women’s epee individual. Nguy?n Th? Nhu Hoa will take part in the women’s sabre individual.

Nguy?n Chi?n Th?ng and Nguy?n Minh Quang will vie for the title in the men’s foil individual. — VNS
