HÀ N?I — HCM City athletes dominated the show at the National Chess Championship yesterday in Hà N?i.
Their masters, Ðào Thiên H?i and Hoàng Th? B?o Trâm, came from behind to take the lead in the men’s and women’s categories, respectively.
After two rounds yesterday, Grandmaster (GM) H?i grabbed 5.5 points from one win and one draw to replace Hanoian GM Tr?n Tu?n Minh at the top position.
Minh with five points is second, followed by International Master (IM) B?o Khoa of Lâm Ð?ng.
Veteran master H?i will next meet IM Nguy?n Van Huy of Hà N?i while Minh will see Khoa.
Women’s GM Trâm also snatched a win and a draw yesterday to garner a total of six points in seven matches.
She is followed by Hanoian Luong Phuong H?nh, who drops down after a loss in the sixth-round match, and IM Ph?m Lê Th?o Nguyên of C?n Tho.
The eighth match will see Trâm versus her teammate WGM Nguy?n Th? Thanh An. H?nh will meet H?i Phòng’s Lê Th? Hà and Nguyên will play Nguy?n Th? Phuong Th?o of B?c Giang. — VNS
