HÀ N?I — Tr?n Tu?n Minh grabbed his second gold medal at the National Chess Championships’ rapid chess event which ended yesterday in Hà N?i.
The Grandmaster (GM) from the hosts has nine points after 11 rounds, as many as No 1 seed Nguy?n Ng?c Tru?ng Son of C?n Tho, but he took the title due to a better parameter.
GM Son, who triumphed in the blitz chess two days ago, earned a silver while the bronzes went to GM Nguy?n Ð?c Hòa of the Army team and Ð?ng Hoàng Son of HCM City.
Minh earlier won the standard chess event on Sunday.
On the women’s side, Women’s GM Nguy?n Th? Thanh An of HCM City secured her title with nine points.
She is followed by International Master Ph?m Lê Th?o Nguyên of C?n Tho in second place and WGM Nguy?n Th? Mai Hung of B?c Giang and HCM City’s Hoàng Th? B?o Trâm who shared the third position. —
